Belinsky Park, Penza, Regional cultural heritage park in Penza, Russia.
Belinsky Park is a regional cultural heritage park in Penza, Russia, with large green areas, walking paths, and open spaces. The grounds also house the Penza Planetarium, which sits within the park near the central walkways.
The park was laid out in 1821, making it one of the oldest green spaces in the city. Over time it became a central gathering spot for residents and was eventually named after the literary critic Belinsky.
The park is named after literary critic Vissarion Grigoryevich Belinsky, who was born near Penza in the 19th century. On weekends, families, older visitors, and young people come here to walk or sit on the benches.
The park is easy to reach on foot from the city center and has no entry fee. The paths are flat and manageable for visitors of all ages, while the planetarium operates separately with its own opening hours.
The Penza Planetarium inside the park holds a real collection of meteorites on display for visitors. The building was renovated in 2023 and now offers updated equipment for sky shows.
