Central Siberian Botanical Garden

The Central Siberian Botanical Garden is a research facility spanning 1000 hectares where hundreds of thousands of plant specimens from different regions grow together. The collection includes specialized areas such as an arboretum with many tree species, medicinal plant gardens, and heated greenhouses containing tropical plants.

The facility was founded in 1946 and initially operated in a different location. It moved to its current site in 1964, where it developed into a major research center for regional science.

This botanical space serves as a learning hub where visitors encounter plant diversity from multiple regions displayed together. People come to see how plants from distant climates grow side by side and understand their relationships to one another.

The garden is easily accessible and located in a well-served city area with various pathways through the collection. Visitors should allow ample time to explore, as the grounds are extensive and comfortable footwear is recommended.

The garden maintains specialized garden areas such as a rock garden and a continuous flowering garden that demonstrate how plants thrive under different conditions. These experimental zones help visitors understand which plants survive in extreme or challenging climates.
