Qora lola Pyatigorsk

Qora lola Pyatigorsk is a monument consisting of a granite pedestal topped by a bronze statue of the Russian poet, reaching a total height of about 5.65 meters. The work sits in Lermontovsky Square in central Pyatigorsk and shows the poet in a contemplative pose while holding a book.

The monument was commissioned in 1871 under Emperor Alexander II and took approximately 19 years to complete. It became the first memorial dedicated to the poet in Russia and represented an important moment in honoring his legacy throughout the country.
