Apartment house of Chirikov

The Chirikov House is a five-story residential building with a plastered facade and prominent curved bay windows that project from its front face. The design combines classical architectural forms with decorative embellishments that give the structure its distinctive character.

The building was constructed in 1913 from designs by architect Leonid Eberg for a wealthy factory owner. During the Russian Civil War years that followed, it was converted to serve as a hospital.

The building displays early 20th century Russian residential design with ornamental details typical of merchant-class homes. These decorative elements reflect the tastes and wealth of the families who lived here during that era.

The building sits on Budenovsky Avenue in a central location and is easily reached by public transportation. Note that it currently serves as an administrative building and can only be viewed from the outside.

The owner insisted on adding two columns to the facade despite the architect's disagreement with this choice. This modification altered the original design and shows how personal taste and wealth sometimes outweighed the artist's vision.
