Tinguta, Railway station settlement in Svetloyarsky District, Russia
Tinguta is a small railway station settlement located roughly 55 kilometers southwest of Svetly Yar in the Volgograd region. The site consists of a simple platform and basic infrastructure that serves local train traffic.
The railway opened in 1889 when the rail line from Tsaritsyn to Tikhoretskaya was completed. This connection led to the establishment of the settlement at this location.
The station represents the minimalist infrastructure characteristics of rural Russian railway points, with a simple platform serving local passenger operations.
Daily commuter trains stop at the station, with connections available from Kotelnikovo to Volgograd-1. Trains typically stop only briefly, so it's best to be ready on the platform in advance.
Despite its role as an active train stop, the settlement today is nearly deserted, with only a handful of residents. This extreme sparseness makes it a striking example of a depopulated Russian railway village.
