The Kaaba is a cuboid stone structure made of granite and is considered the most sacred site in Islam.
It is believed to have been built by Abraham and his son Ishmael around 2000 BC.
Every year, millions of Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the Kaaba, circling it seven times counterclockwise.
Non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the area of the Kaaba.
The Kaaba is covered with a black silk cloth known as the Kiswa, which is replaced annually.
