Jamaraat Bridge, Pilgrimage site in Saudi Arabia
The Jamaraat Bridge is a pedestrian bridge in Mina, near Mecca, used by Muslims during the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The current structure was built in 2006 to replace an older bridge and to alleviate overcrowding and stampedes that have led to fatalities in the past.
During the ritual of 'Stoning of the Devil', pilgrims throw pebbles at three walls, known as jamraat, from the bridge.
The bridge has multiple levels and access points to manage the flow of millions of pilgrims.
It's one of the few structures in the world designed specifically for a religious event that lasts just a few days each year.
