Djursholm, Residential district in Danderyd Municipality, Sweden.
Djursholm is a residential district in Danderyd Municipality north of Stockholm, spread across several neighborhoods along the coastline. The area includes sections such as Ekeby, Svalnäs, Ösby, and Berga, which form a connected community with both older and newer housing.
The area was founded in 1889 when Henrik Palme established a company to develop and settle the district as an independent community. It was granted city status in 1914 before later becoming part of Danderyd Municipality.
Djursholm Castle, dating from the 15th century, now functions as the administrative center for Danderyd Municipality and exhibits historical architectural elements.
The area is well connected to Stockholm by public transport and can be reached fairly easily from the city center. Since the district stretches across several neighborhoods, exploring on foot, by bike, or train works depending on which part you want to visit.
The Germania beach provides a sandy shoreline at the intersection of Strandvägen and Germaniavägen, offering recreational opportunities for local residents.
