AF-borgen

AF-borgen is a student society building in Lund situated opposite the University Main Building in Lundagård. It features a grand assembly hall with high ceilings and classical architectural details, equipped to accommodate several hundred people.

Construction began in 1830, reflecting the neoclassical style that dominated Swedish architecture during the nineteenth-century expansion of higher education. The building emerged during a period when Lund University was growing in prominence and influence.

The building serves as a central meeting place for student organizations, where theatrical performances and concerts fill the calendar throughout the year. It has become deeply woven into the social fabric of the university community.

The venue offers modern conference facilities equipped with up-to-date technical equipment and accessibility features for all visitors. The main hall is flexible and can be reconfigured for different types of events and gatherings.

The great hall has hosted renowned international musicians over the years, including Depeche Mode, Phil Lynott, Accept, and Uriah Heep. These performances have given the venue a distinctive place in Scandinavian music history.
