King's Grave

The circular tomb contains two burial chambers within a 76-meter wide mound, featuring stone slabs decorated with ancient petroglyphs of animals and symbols.

Two farmers discovered the archaeological site in 1748 while quarrying stones, leading to their arrest for unauthorized excavation of the ancient structure.

The petroglyphs inside the burial chambers display images of horses, birds, ships, and ceremonial scenes that represent Bronze Age Nordic cultural expressions.

The site includes a museum displaying excavated artifacts, with a concrete tunnel allowing visitors to enter and examine the engraved stones inside.

Beneath the massive cairn, archaeologists uncovered remnants of an earlier Stone Age settlement, including numerous flintstone fragments from prehistoric human activity.
