Kungsbacka Municipality

Kungsbacka Municipality extends over 641.8 square kilometers along the western coast of Sweden, containing both rocky coastlines and inland agricultural plains.

The administrative region gained its current structure in 1971 when the municipal reform transformed it into the seat of the expanded Kungsbacka Municipality.

The municipality contains Tjolöholms Slott, constructed in English Tudor style, and Äskhults By, a preserved farming settlement from the early 19th century.

The municipality maintains a population of 85,653 residents as of December 2023, with direct rail connections to central Gothenburg located 28 kilometers north.

The municipal area includes 130 lakes and approximately 20 bathing locations distributed between smooth-surfaced cliffs and sandy beaches along the Kattegat coast.
