Skövde Municipality

Gemeinde Skövde is an administrative municipality in Västra Götaland County, stretching across central southern Sweden between Lake Vänern and Lake Vättern. The low mountain ridge Billingen, reaching 304 meters, dominates the local landscape.

A major fire in 1759 destroyed most of the structures, leading to a systematic reconstruction following a geometric grid pattern. This organized rebuilding left a lasting mark on urban planning.
