Estonia memorial, Maritime memorial in Djurgården, Sweden
The Estonia Memorial features three wedge-shaped granite walls displaying the names of 815 individuals who perished in the maritime disaster.
The memorial marks the 1994 sinking of MS Estonia during its journey from Tallinn to Stockholm, resulting in 852 casualties in the Baltic Sea.
Each September 28, officials, families, and Swedish royalty gather at Galärvarvskyrkogården to commemorate the victims through flower-laying ceremonies and remembrance.
The memorial site remains open throughout the year, offering visitors a space for reflection within the Kungliga Nationalstadsparken urban park grounds.
An iron ring at the base of the central tree displays the exact coordinates where the MS Estonia sank in the Baltic waters.
