Elgåfossen

Elgåfossen is a waterfall where a tributary of the Enningdalsälven river drops approximately 46 meters along the Sweden-Norway border. The falls create a natural boundary marker that visitors can observe from several different vantage points in the surrounding area.

The waterfall area once powered mills during the industrial period, showing how the region's economy relied on water-based manufacturing. These old mill sites remain visible in the landscape, marking a chapter in the area's economic past.

The water feature holds different names on each side of the border, reflecting how both Swedish and Norwegian communities shaped their own relationship with this natural landmark.

Parking is available roughly 1 kilometer away, with a short walk leading to the falls. Multiple viewing platforms provide different angles for observing the cascade and the border landscape.
