Bellmanstatyn, Bronze sculpture in Hasselbacken, Stockholm, Sweden
The sculpture depicts Carl Michael Bellman sitting with his lute on a granite pedestal, located near the historic Bellman oak tree.
Created by Alfred Nyström in 1872, the sculpture features August Strindberg as the model who posed for the representation of the poet.
The statue stands as a representation of Swedish poetry and music traditions, marking the location where cultural performances take place throughout the year.
Visitors can find the statue at Hasselbacken on Djurgården, with a replica of the work situated at Kräftriket overlooking Brunnsviken.
The sculpture was initially designed in bronzed zinc, marking Nyström's first major public work, which received substantial recognition in Stockholm.
