Lindgården, Stockholm, Historical restaurant building near Djurgårdsvägen, Stockholm, Sweden.
Lindgården was a wooden building in Stockholm featuring classicist design elements from the 1920s. Architect Arre Essén designed the structure in 1929 with characteristic Swiss architectural details that distinguished it from other buildings of that era.
The building was erected for the Stockholm Exhibition of 1930 and operated as an open summer restaurant. It was managed by Sweden's General Restaurant Company before eventually closing.
The Stockholm City Museum recognized the building's architectural value, designating it with a green classification in their preservation assessment system.
The building lacked insulation and could only operate during warm months, which severely limited its usability. This seasonal constraint later contributed to maintenance issues and structural deterioration.
The site was transformed into the Melody Hotel complex in 2013, housing the Swedish Music Hall of Fame and the ABBA Museum. This new use created a popular tourist destination where the original building was demolished in 2011.
