Focushuset, Multi-purpose building in Gårda district, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Focushuset is a large six-story building that houses shops, restaurants, offices, and a substantial parking area. The complex combines retail and commercial spaces in one location near Åvägen in the Gårda district.
The building was designed by architect Arne Branzell in 1973 as a modern commercial space. Its exterior was renovated in 2003 by Wingårds arkitekter, giving it the appearance it has today.
The building functions as a busy meeting place where locals come to shop, dine, and work in their daily routines. People of all ages pass through here regularly, making it a social hub in the district.
The location is easy to reach by tram, with line 5 connecting to Liseberg station nearby. The site has plenty of parking spaces, so visitors can easily find a place to leave a vehicle.
A covered pedestrian bridge connects the upper parking garage directly to Svenska Mässan exhibition hall, making the transition between these two places very convenient. Visitors can move between the locations without going outside, which is especially useful in bad weather.
