Husby-Rekarne Church

The Romanesque structure features vaulted ceilings decorated with medieval paintings that depict scenes from the life of Jesus throughout the interior.

Built in the 1100s, the church expanded between the 14th and 18th centuries with additions of a sacristy, porch, crypt, and bell tower.

The church contains notable religious artifacts including a 13th-century baptismal font and wooden sculptures featuring a 15th-century altarpiece and 13th-century Madonna figure.

The church complex includes community storage buildings, a parish house from the 1700s, a church stable, and an old church school now serving as a community center.

Located 8 kilometers outside central Eskilstuna, the church maintains its medieval parish exterior while revealing its true age through interior architectural elements.
