Åsöberget, Historic hill in Södermalm, Sweden
Red wooden houses line the cobblestone paths of Åsöberget, reaching an elevation of 37 meters above sea level in central Stockholm.
The first residential structures on Åsöberget appeared in the 1600s when the district contained small farms, marking the beginning of urban development.
Stockholm City Museum designated the buildings with blue markers, indicating their exceptional historical value within the municipal preservation system.
The hill connects to Folkungagatan near Londonviadukten in the north and east, while Åsögatan and Kvastmakarbacken form the southern boundary.
The site maintained its original housing structures without modern plumbing in some buildings until the early 2000s, preserving authentic historical conditions.
