Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort, Mountain ski resort in Podravska, Slovenia.
Mariborsko Pohorje is a ski resort comprising three sections named Snow Stadium, Bolfenk, and Areh with about 42 kilometers of north-facing slopes spread across multiple elevation levels. The terrain accommodates both beginning and experienced skiers with runs of varying difficulty.
The resort gained international attention starting in 1964 when it began hosting the Golden Fox World Cup races in giant slalom and slalom for women skiers. These competitions established it as a significant venue in the women's skiing calendar.
The slopes draw local and visiting skiers throughout the winter season, creating a community of snow sports enthusiasts who return year after year to the same runs and mountain traditions.
The resort operates 22 lifts including gondolas and chair lifts to move skiers across different elevation zones efficiently. Arriving early, especially on weekends and during school holidays, helps you avoid peak crowds and long wait times.
The resort features about 10 kilometers of illuminated slopes where visitors can ski after sunset while gazing down at the lights of Maribor city below. These night runs create a different skiing experience available only at this location.
