Logar Valley, Slovenia

The Logar Valley extends for 9 kilometers through the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, featuring steep mountain peaks, traditional farmsteads, and numerous hiking trails throughout the protected area.

The valley transformed from an agricultural region with alpine dairy farms into a nature park, receiving the CIPRA Future in the Alps Award for environmental management.

Local farmers maintain wooden granaries called kašče for agricultural storage, continuing centuries-old traditions of the Solčava region through their mountain farming practices.

Access to the valley requires a 7-euro daily entrance fee from April to October, while visitors staying overnight receive extended access for their entire stay.

The 90-meter Rinka waterfall stands at the valley's end, accompanied by an observation platform called Orlovo Gnezdo offering direct views of the cascade.
