Watthana Nakhon, Administrative district in Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand.
Watthana Nakhon is an administrative district in eastern Thailand with mountainous terrain in its northern section that gradually transitions to lower plains. The area contains numerous villages spread across sub-districts, connected by local roads that serve agricultural communities and nearby markets.
The area was originally established as a minor administrative section of Aranyaprathet before receiving full district status on June 6, 1956. This formal recognition allowed the region to develop its own independent administrative structure and governance system.
The district contains 115 villages across 11 sub-districts, where residents maintain traditional agricultural practices and participate in local community activities.
The district is accessible via road connections to neighboring regions, with most travel organized through local highway networks. Visitors exploring the area should plan visits during the cooler months when rural road conditions are most reliable for travel.
Located at 63 meters above sea level, the district maintains eleven tambon administrative organizations that oversee local governance and community development.
