Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, First convention center of Thailand
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is a large event venue in Bangkok, Thailand, with eight exhibition halls, four conference halls, and four large plenary halls plus over 50 smaller meeting rooms. The space is highly flexible and can host major conventions, concerts, and gaming tournaments simultaneously.
The center opened its doors in the early 1990s and was built in less than two years to host an important international meeting. After a major three-year renovation completed in 2022, it reopened with updated facilities and expanded capacity.
The center bears the name of Queen Sirikit in honor of her role in Thai society. Visitors see traditional Thai artistic elements and craftsmanship throughout the space, showing how the country preserves its cultural identity while hosting modern events.
The center is located in Bangkok's central business district and is easy to reach by public transport, with a pedestrian walkway connecting to the metro system. Visitors should allow time to explore the outdoor areas near Benjakitti Park and take advantage of the infrastructure with parking, electric vehicle chargers, and bicycle racks.
The center was renovated with remarkable green features including solar panels on the roof and automatic systems to save water and electricity. These sustainability measures make it one of the region's most environmentally conscious event venues and showcase Thailand's commitment to responsible building.
