Benchakitti Forest Park

Benchakitti Forest Park is an urban green space featuring four interconnected lakes with elevated walkways that pass through tree canopies. Cycling paths wind around the water areas, and visitors can rent bicycles to explore the entire grounds at their own pace.

The site was transformed from a tobacco factory into a public park in 2004 and named to honor a milestone in the Thai royal family. This conversion of an industrial area into green space represented an important shift in how the city managed its land.

The park's name honors the Thai royal family and reflects how much this space matters to the city. You will notice performances and community gatherings happening regularly, especially in the open plaza near the western entrance.

The park connects to a neighboring green space through an elevated walkway, making it easy to combine visits to multiple areas. Bicycle rentals are available on-site, and the raised pathways keep you away from ground-level traffic and crowds.

The lakes here function as water storage and natural purification system for the city at the same time. Few visitors realize they are walking past infrastructure that helps manage the urban water supply while enjoying their leisure time.
