Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall, Throne room in Dusit District, Bangkok, Thailand.
The Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall is a single-story building with carved floral motifs adorning its gables and eaves, located within the Vimanmek Mansion grounds. The interior is divided into four distinct areas that each showcase different types of traditional craftsmanship.
The building was constructed in 1904 during King Rama V's reign and originally served as a reception venue for foreign dignitaries. It underwent comprehensive restoration in the late 1980s to preserve its condition.
The hall displays an extensive collection of Thai handicrafts, including silverware and traditional silk from various provinces across the country. Visitors can observe the range of traditional artisanal work from different regions in one space.
The hall is accessible to visitors only through guided tours, and appropriate attire is required when entering. Photography is permitted in designated areas, allowing visitors to document their visit.
The space houses a collection of Talung puppet figures used in southern Thai shadow theater performances. These rare objects showcase an art form that is less commonly seen outside the southern regions of Thailand.
