Wat Wachirathammaram

Wat Wachirathammaram is a Buddhist temple situated along a waterfront, dominated by a large golden statue of Luang Pu Thuat standing 54 meters (177 feet) tall. The complex spreads across spacious grounds with areas for prayer, walking, and reflection by the water.

The temple was founded as a royal project honoring King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit of Thailand. The site grew to become an important religious destination that draws visitors from across the region.

The site is dedicated to the venerated monk Luang Pu Thuat, a figure deeply respected in local spiritual traditions. Pilgrims visit to seek blessings and participate in rituals that make the place an active center of devotion.

The temple grounds are easy to navigate on foot, with clear paths for visitors to explore the different areas. A market is located on the premises where you can purchase local food and handmade souvenirs.

A distinctive feature is the coin-tossing ritual where visitors throw coins into alms bowls, each containing different fortune predictions. This interactive element gives the visit a personal, playful dimension that attracts many pilgrims.
