Ben Arous

Ben Arous Governorate spans 761 square kilometers in northeastern Tunisia, featuring agricultural zones, industrial areas, and a section of Mediterranean coastline.

The governorate, established in 1983, contains the ancient Sidi Fathallah Plain where the Battle of Ad Decimum occurred in 523 AD.

The region maintains agricultural traditions with extensive cultivation of peaches, grapes, and wheat, supporting numerous local farming communities.

The governorate includes twelve delegations and eleven municipalities, with El Mourouj containing the largest population concentration of over 104,000 residents.

The territory houses Tunisia's primary commercial port of Radès, managing substantial maritime traffic for the nation's import and export operations.
