The Galatasaray Islet extends into the Bosphorus Strait, featuring multiple restaurants, bars, and swimming pools overlooking the water.
In 1872, Ottoman sultan Abdülaziz granted the islet to court architect Sarkis Balyan, who constructed a three-story residence on the property.
The islet maintains close ties with the Galatasaray Sports Club, serving as a gathering place for members and their guests since 1957.
Located 165 meters from the European coast, visitors reach the islet through a dedicated ferry service that operates throughout the day.
Russian-Armenian painter Ivan Aivazovsky created several paintings for Dolmabahçe Palace while staying at the islet's mansion in 1874.
