Kâzım Karabekir Museum

The Kâzım Karabekir Museum is a wooden mansion in the Suadiye district, designed by Italian architect Rozette with two floors containing separate exhibition areas. The rooms display furnishings and objects arranged to reflect the period when residents lived here.

The building began as an educational facility under Ottoman rule before Kâzım Karabekir took ownership in 1930. He made it his home until 1938, leaving behind a snapshot of his era.

The name honors Kâzım Karabekir, a military leader whose legacy is preserved within these walls. Visitors encounter personal objects and documents that reveal how he lived and the choices he made during his time.

The museum sits in a quiet residential area and is easy to reach on foot once you orient yourself in the neighborhood. You should allow time to walk through the house at your own pace and notice the details.

The upper floor preserves the original bedroom with clothing and family photographs that offer an intimate glimpse into private life. These rooms feel less like a museum and more like a home that time has paused.
