Professor İhsan Ketin, born in 1914, established the foundation for geological research in Turkey through his work at Istanbul Technical University until 1995.
The museum maintains collections from the Istanbul Hipparion zone, contributed by scientists Hamit Nafiz Pamir and Malik Sayar, documenting regional paleontological discoveries.

The Darwin 2000 Beagle series and Solnhofen limestone specimens form part of the permanent exhibition, including a reproduction of the Archeopteryx fossil.
