Istanbul University Alfred Heilbronn Botanical Garden

The 15,000-square-meter garden contains six distinct sections with more than 5,000 plant species, including native Turkish flora and international specimens.

Professor Alfred Heilbronn established this garden in 1931 after fleeing Nazi Germany, creating a research center for botanical studies at Istanbul University.

The garden functions as an educational institution where students and researchers study plant species while conducting scientific investigations throughout the year.

Located in central Istanbul, this free-access garden provides visitors with walking paths through different vegetation zones and includes a small lake.
