Piri Mehmed Pasha Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Zeyrek district, Fatih, Turkey
The Piri Mehmed Pasha Mosque features a square plan with a lead-covered dome measuring 11.90 meters in diameter and multiple window arrangements.
The mosque was constructed in 1530-1531 during the Ottoman Empire under the direction of Grand Vizier Piri Mehmed Pasha who served from 1518 to 1523.
The interior walls display intricate hand-drawn decorations, with the main dome featuring the verse Ayat al-Kursi inscribed in traditional Islamic calligraphy.
The mosque complex includes a courtyard with an octagonal shadirvan for ablutions, covered by a zinc sheet roof installed during renovations between 1966 and 1971.
The mosque's narthex presents an asymmetrical arrangement of domes supported by four columns with muqarnas capitals, with the central dome rising highest.
