Murat Pasha Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Aksaray district, Istanbul, Turkey.

Murat Pasha Mosque is a brick structure with two identical domes spanning roughly 10 meters across within its rectangular prayer space. The building features a narthex entrance and a single minaret positioned at its side.

Built in 1471 under commission from Hass Murad Pasha, the structure was completed after his death by his brother Mesih Pasha during Sultan Mehmed II's reign. This succession reflects the family involvement in major building projects of early Ottoman times.

The mosque displays traditional Ottoman religious architecture with its prayer hall and entrance portico that remain recognizable today. The brick construction shows the craftsmanship of its era and continues to shape the local streetscape.

The mosque is situated between two main roads in the Aksaray neighborhood and remains open to visitors and worshippers. It is helpful to keep prayer times in mind when planning a visit and to dress appropriately for a place of worship.

The building combines brick and stone in its exterior structure in a way characteristic of construction techniques from the 1470s. This material mixture is a noteworthy detail showing how builders of that era made use of various local resources.
