Ekmeksiz Beach Nature Park, Nature park in Seferihisar, Turkey
Ekmeksiz Beach Nature Park is a small coastal reserve in Seferihisar, where pine trees and bushes grow down to a sandy shore. The beach curves gently around a cove with cold, clear water that deepens very gradually as you walk out.
A fire a few years ago burned part of the trees and some vehicles in the area. The land is now recovering, with young growth returning among the surviving pines.
The name of the cove refers to a time when sailors and travelers stopped here to rest and forgot to eat their bread. Visitors today use the shaded ground under the pine trees for quiet picnics during the day.
You can leave your car in a dirt lot at the top and walk downhill for about five minutes to reach the sand. People with limited mobility may find the slope tiring on the way back, and there are no toilets or showers at the site.
The water here stays unusually cold even during summer heat, which many swimmers find refreshing. On calm mornings the sea is so flat and transparent that the sandy bottom remains visible far from shore.
