İzmir Wildlife Park is a large zoological facility in Turkey housing approximately 1,800 animals across around 132 species in spacious enclosures and landscaped areas. The animals live in habitats designed to reflect the environments where they naturally occur.
The park opened in 2008 as a newer facility in the region. This establishment represented a fresh approach to animal care and wildlife education in the area.
The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria member institution received recognition from the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities for urban services excellence.
The park is open daily for visitors and provides ample room to walk between different animal areas. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and allow several hours to explore the various sections at your own pace.
