Human Rights Monument

The Human Rights Monument features a bronze sculpture of a woman holding and reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The work stands as a public statement at a street intersection where many people pass by daily.

The monument was created in 1990 by artist Metin Yurdanur during a period when Turkey was increasing its public focus on human rights. A restoration took place in 2010 to preserve the bronze sculpture for the future.
