Pakistan Pavilion, Exhibition pavilion in Kültürpark, Turkey
The Pakistan Pavilion is an exhibition building with a clock tower and single balcony structure located in Kültürpark in Izmir. It combines Turkish and Pakistani architectural traditions and features an observation terrace on the upper level.
Architect Harbi Hotan designed this building in 1938, when it first served as a Foundation Pavilion. It later received its Pakistan association during international fairs held in the park.
The building displays a blend of oriental and Turkish design elements visible throughout its rooms and upper observation terrace. Visitors can notice this cultural connection in the decorative details and layout of the interior spaces.
The pavilion sits within Kültürpark and now functions as a tourism information office and exhibition space. Reaching it requires a short walk through the park grounds to access the building.
The clock tower once contained a timepiece crafted by Mustafa Şem'i Pek that vanished during the 1970s and was never restored. This missing clock is a detail many visitors overlook when viewing the structure.
