The park emerged in 1936 on the land affected by the Great Fire of 1922, transforming a devastated area into a municipal recreation center.
The İzmir International Fair takes place annually in Kültürpark, presenting industrial innovations, art exhibitions, and performances from local and international participants.
Fourteen indoor exhibition spaces, four conference halls, tennis courts, and a 1,850-meter running track provide year-round activities for visitors.
The park includes the İzmir Parachute Tower, an engineering structure that serves as both a landmark and functional facility for aerial sports.
