Beimen District

Beimen District is an administrative area along the coast of Tainan, stretching across several villages and residential communities. The terrain is flat and bordered by the sea, with wetlands and farmland shaping the landscape.

The area was originally a rural township of Tainan County before becoming an official district in 2010. This transformation came from an administrative reorganization that consolidated several local communities.

The Nankunshen Temple serves as a gathering place where residents practice their faith and celebrate local festivals throughout the year.

The area is best explored on foot or by local transport, as the villages are spread out. It helps to check a simple map beforehand to locate the different neighborhoods and settlements.

The Jingzaijiao Salt Fields use traditional methods where water evaporates in shallow basins to produce salt. This approach has changed little over generations and remains uncommon in modern salt production.
