Zaoqiao is a rural township in Miaoli County made up of nine separate villages. The area spans about 48 square kilometers with several community centers, including Dalong, Daxi, and Fenghu.
This area developed through Taiwan's political changes after World War II, shifting from Japanese control to administration by the Republic of China. This transition shaped its administrative structure and local character over several decades.
