Waipu He-Sing Temple

The Waipu He-Sing Temple is a Chinese temple in Houlong Township featuring traditional architectural elements such as intricately carved stone pillars, ornate rooftop designs, and detailed dragon sculptures. The structure displays classic Chinese building techniques with decorative details adorning every section of the building.

The temple was founded in 1772 during the Qing Dynasty and became a central gathering place for settlers from Fujian. These early communities established the foundations for the development of Houlong Township.

The temple is dedicated to the deity Zhen Wu and welcomes visitors who present offerings of incense, fruit, and traditional food during ceremonies. These practices continue traditions that have been observed here for centuries.

Visitors can reach the temple using local buses from Houlong Station, with access available from early morning until late afternoon. Arriving early in the day helps you experience the temple in quieter moments.
