Guanziling Hot Spring

The mineral-rich springs emerge from rock fissures, producing distinctive gray-black waters containing fine mud particles and natural mineral elements at temperatures of 75-80°C.

The thermal area gained recognition during Japanese colonial rule when it became established as one of Taiwan's premier hot spring destinations alongside Beitou, Yangmingshan, and Sihzhongxi.

During the annual winter hot spring festival, visitors participate in guided historical walks exploring the traditional Japanese buildings and decorated street murals depicting local landmarks.

Visitors can reach the springs by driving on National Highway 1 or 3, or taking the high-speed rail to Chiayi Station followed by the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus service.

These thermal waters represent one of only three locations worldwide, alongside Italy and Japan, where natural mud springs contain beneficial elements like selenium and magnesium carbonate.
