Dayuan District, Administrative district in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
Dayuan District is an administrative division in northwestern Taoyuan City that covers coastal flatlands with rice fields and sandy shorelines. The area combines open agricultural terrain with port facilities that serve the region's fishing and farming communities.
The area was originally known as Toa-khu-hng when it functioned as farmland, before receiving its current name in 2014. The change occurred when Taoyuan County gained the status of a special municipality and underwent administrative reorganization.
The district preserves traditional farming methods while incorporating modern agricultural techniques, particularly in the cultivation of watermelons, vegetables, and paddy rice.
The district is organized into multiple villages and includes schools at various levels throughout its territory. Visitors can access rural pathways and direct connections to harbor and fishing-related activities.
A major fishing port operates active harvest operations for multiple fish species in this district. The local fishing industry continues to play an important economic role in the community.
