Chung Cheng Aviation Museum, Aviation museum in Dayuan District, Taiwan.
The Chung Cheng Aviation Museum was an aircraft collection at Taoyuan International Airport featuring fighter jets, transport planes, and historical replicas. The facility displayed approximately 18 aircraft spanning different periods of aviation history.
The museum opened in 1981 and operated as a fixture at the airport for more than 3 decades. It closed in 2014 to make way for the airport's expansion and the construction of a new terminal.
The museum displayed the story of Taiwan's aviation development through military uniforms, historical photographs, and documents from the air force. These items showed visitors how the island's relationship with flight and technology evolved over time.
The museum was located directly at the airport between the main entrance and passenger terminals, making it easily accessible for travelers. Visitors could view the aircraft both from inside the building and from outdoor areas.
The collection included rare military jets such as the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter and the North American F-86 Sabre, both legends of the Cold War era. Standing beside these machines gave visitors a sense of the engineering and scale that defined an entire period of aviation history.
