Fonghuanggu Bird and Ecology Park, Bird park and ecological center in Lugu Township, Taiwan
Fonghuanggu Bird and Ecology Park sits at the base of Mount Fonghuang and features ten large aviaries set across the grounds. Pathways connect these enclosures and allow visitors to walk through and observe different bird species in their habitats.
The park was established in 1982 as a bird sanctuary after years of planning and preparation. Its creation marked an effort to protect rare bird species and teach visitors about conservation.
The Songher Museum focuses on crane species and teaches visitors about different kinds of birds found in the region. This educational space has become important for people interested in understanding local bird life and their natural habitats.
The site is reachable by public transport, with bus connections available from Taichung city. Wear comfortable shoes since you will walk through the grounds to see the aviaries and explore the different pathways.
The aviaries in the park are built exceptionally tall and house more than 100 bird species from different parts of the world. These large structures allow the birds to live in an environment that closely resembles their natural habitats.
