銃櫃壩

Chongguei Dam is a water structure in Nantou County located within forested terrain and surrounded by natural rock formations. Multiple hiking paths wind through the area, connecting different viewpoints along the water body and surrounding woods.

The dam took its name from its original purpose as a military weapons storage facility established in the 1970s. This period marked an important chapter in Taiwan's defense strategy along with other strategic installations.

Local residents maintain traditional agricultural practices near the dam, combining indigenous Taiwanese and Han Chinese farming methods throughout the seasons.

The location is most easily visited during dry weather when hiking paths are passable throughout most of the year. Bring plenty of water since wooded sections offer limited shade, and wear sturdy footwear for the uneven terrain.

The structure features specific compartments that were originally designed to store firearms, reflecting its transformation from military facility to natural landmark.
