Ci En Pagoda, Pagoda in Yuchi Township, Taiwan
The octagonal Ci En Pagoda reaches 46 meters in height and features traditional Chinese architectural elements, with its lower floors painted white and upper floors in golden red.
President Chiang Kai-shek initiated the construction of this pagoda in 1971 as a memorial to his mother Wang Caiyu, requiring materials to be transported through Sun Moon Lake.
The pagoda represents the traditional Chinese architectural design principles through its decorated eaves, multiple floors, and careful attention to structural balance and symmetry.
Visitors can reach the pagoda by taking bus route 6670 from Taichung Station to Sun Moon Lake, followed by a transfer to Nantou Bus 6669 for direct access.
Located at an elevation of 954 meters above sea level, the pagoda contains 12 distinct floors that provide different perspectives of the surrounding mountain landscape.
