Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center, Cultural center in Zhongzheng District, Taiwan
The Mongolian and Tibetan Cultural Center is a four-story building in Taipei's Zhongzheng District with spaces serving different purposes. It contains exhibition areas, a reading room, a lecture hall, and conference rooms that together house the collection.
The building was originally the residence of the 7th Changkya Khutukhtu Lobsang Pelden Tenpe Dronme before being converted into a cultural center in 1993. This transformation preserved the site while connecting its spiritual past with its new role as an educational institution.
The center displays handicrafts and religious objects from Mongolian and Tibetan traditions that visitors can explore directly. Regular events bring these cultures to life through their own practices and customs.
The center is easily accessible by Taipei Metro to Guting Station, from where you follow signs through Zhongzheng District streets. Check the schedule for exhibitions and events in advance to make the most of your visit.
The third and fourth floors contain a prayer hall dedicated to the 7th Changkya Khutukhtu that honors his spiritual significance. This space blends personal veneration with public education in an unusual way.
