Qiuzishan Lighthouse

Qiuzishan Lighthouse is a white tower standing on Qiuzi Mountain in Keelung, guiding ships with its beam through Taiwan's northern waters. The structure rises roughly 12 meters above the peak and serves as a key navigation point for the harbor below.

The lighthouse was built to safely guide ships into Keelung Harbor and has remained a critical part of local maritime infrastructure ever since. Its construction reflects the growing importance of Keelung as a major trading port on Taiwan's northern coast.

Located near Fairy Cave Temple, the lighthouse stands as part of a maritime landscape that combines navigation infrastructure with local traditions.

The path to the lighthouse begins from Niuchou Harbor via a small road, then continues with a short walk from the parking area. Good footwear is recommended as the path climbs upward, and the view of the harbor and surrounding islands makes the hike worthwhile.

The lighthouse sits at an elevation of roughly 122 meters, making it an excellent vantage point to survey the entire harbor. This height offers far-reaching views of Heping Island and Keelung Islet that would otherwise be difficult to take in from ground level.
