Khóo Tsú-song old house, Cultural heritage site in Keelung, Taiwan
The two-story red brick mansion stands on a hilltop near Miaokou Night Market, featuring symmetrical stairways and traditional Fukien architectural elements.
Built in 1931, the residence belonged to Khóo Tsú-song, who served as mayor of Renai District and contributed to local governance during the Japanese colonial period.
The building combines Western influences with traditional Taiwanese design principles, incorporating a three-sided courtyard layout typical of regional architecture.
Visitors can reach the site by following narrow alleyways from Miaokou Night Market to Aisi Road, where signs mark the entrance to the property.
Banyan tree roots have spread throughout the abandoned structure, creating an intricate network that intertwines with the remaining architectural features.
